A comprehensive Sensory Needs Assessment conducted by a qualified Occupational Therapist (OT) can be highly beneficial for parents of children with autism or sensory processing difficulties. This assessment focuses on identifying each child’s unique sensory challenges and provides personalised, evidence-based strategies to support their daily functioning and overall well-being.
What does an appointment involve?
Before the appointment:
- We will ask you and your child’s school to complete questionnaires
- We will review any relevant reports from professionals who have seen your child
Together we will paint the individual picture of your child’s sensory needs. This might involve formal sensory assessments, detailed discussion and completing some fun activities!
- Approximately 1.5 hours face to face in our clinic rooms in Wallingford
- Verbal feedback is given on the day with the results of the assessment
