Dr. Cassie Coleman is a Consultant Paediatrician with a specialist interest in Autism, ADHD and Child Mental Health. Cassie understands from her own experience, in getting her son’s ADHD diagnosis, how stressful it can be trying to get this kind of help for your children. As a consultant paediatrician with specialist training in children’s mental health, her understanding of children’s development, ADHD and Autism, means that she will perform a truly comprehensive assessment of your child.
She knows how daunting it can be even considering that your child may have one of these conditions, which is why she is so passionate about supporting families, not just through assessment and diagnosis, but also with what follows a diagnosis. Liaison with schools, the development of tailored management strategies, and possible medical treatment are all equally as important.
Cassie worked in the NHS for 16 years, most recently as a Locum Consultant Community Paediatrician at Oxford University Hospitals Foundation Trust, where she led the Multi-Disciplinary Autism Diagnosis Service for children under 5 across Oxfordshire. In 2019 she started to see patients privately, and in 2020 made the decision to set up the Dr Cassie private clinic. Recognising the difficulties families were having accessing NHS and private care, Cassie set out to create a bespoke clinic which could assess patients to the highest clinical standards, and, with Marcelina and Jen by her side, opened the Dr Cassie clinic in November 2020.
Her interest in Autism dates back to 2004, when Cassie designed her own research project at university into pre-schoolers with autism, and she has also spoken at many national conferences on this subject. She is currently supporting a charity called the Madrinha Trust, by remotely mentoring two students from South Africa, as they undertake their medical undergraduate degrees.
Cassie is a mother to 3 boys, married to a fellow doctor, and loves nothing more than playing football for her local ladies team or walking the only girl in the house – her beloved labrador!
