Dr. Maria Medin Doce is a Consultant Community Paediatrician.
Maria has a specialist interest in understanding the neurodevelopmental needs of a child or young person through the use of holistic and comprehensive assessments. She is passionate about supporting the individual and those around them to best align to those unique strengths and challenges and aid the journey to fulfilling their own magnificent potential. Maria strives to empower the individual to understand themselves and their behaviours in a self-compassionate way.
Maria has a longstanding interest in Autism Spectrum Disorder and ADHD and builds upon the skills and experience gained working in the NHS for over 16 years, which included specialist Community Child Health training, and her work as a Community Paediatric Consultant at Oxford University NHS Foundation Trust. She previously led Oxfordshire’s multidisciplinary Autism assessment pathway service for children under 5 years and was the specialist doctor for a Special Educational Needs Senior School. Maria co-led a senior team to establish a successful and ongoing multidisciplinary autism assessment service abroad, in collaboration with the Ministry of Defence. Maria has comprehensive experience of close multi-agency working including allied health services, education, and other children’s services.
Maria is a mother to 2 busy boys. She understands the beautifully complex and somewhat tumultuous balance parenting very different characters can bring!
